Ionia Daily Sentiel-Standard - Mon. Dec. 5, 1938

Mrs. Emelia Slowinski, 85, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles 
Shafer, 310 East Adams Street, Sunday morning, December 4, at 10:45 o'clock 
following an illness of several months.

She was born March 23. 1853 in Germany and was married in the  year of 1874 to 
August Slowinski, who with three children preceded her in death several years 
ago. She has resided at her daughter's home 25 years and was a member of the 
St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church on North Jefferson street, Wednesday 
afternoon. December 7, at 2 o'clock preceded by prayer services at the home at 
1:30 o'clock. The Rev. R.A. Rook, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be 
made in Lakeside Cemetery at Lake Odessa in the family lot.
