Ionia Shopper's Guide Sat. November 20, 2021

SLOWINSKI
Alan G.Slowinski of Canadian Lakes, MI, passed away on November 13, 2021. He was 
blessed to have his family by his side.He is survived by his loving wife of 56 
years, Barbara; his children, Cris (Steve) Bush, Dan (JJ) Slowinski, Eric (Mary) 
Slowinski grandchildren,Madison, Carson, Jake,Peter, Braden;;brother,Mort (Mary) 
Slowinski of Ionia, Michigan-where he was born on November 30, 1940 to the late 
Fred and Alice Slowinski. Al loved his family with all his heart.He graduated 
from CMU with a BS in Ed.In 1963 and a Masters of Arts in Ed. in 1965. He taught 
in Peck,Grand Rapids West Catholic and was an Administrator and Athletic 
Director at Bay City John Glenn High School and the middle school. He retired in 
1998 and was able to more fully pursue his interests in hunting, fishing, 
golfing. Al and Barb enjoyed spending winters in Florida enjoying activities 
with friends.He was lucky to have good friends who showed him such kindness and 
caring when he was sick. A special thank you o the Hospice team and wonderful 
doctors and  nurses who cared for Al. To fulfill Al's wishes, cremation as taken 
place. A celebration of life will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, 
please consider donations to the Renucci Hospitality House of Butterworth 
Hospital or Spectrum Hospice of Michigan.
