Slowinski, aged 86, of Lake Odessa, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, April 15, 2007 with her family at her side. Agnes was born in Pewamo on August 11, 1920 to Edward and Mary (Fox) Droste. She was united in marriage to Clarence Slowinski on May 15, 1947 in Pewamo. Clarence preceded her in death in December of 1966. Agnes was also preceded in death by her parents. She had been employed at Fate’s Family Fare grocery store in Lake Odessa for 20 years. Agnes had been a long-time faithful member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Lake Odessa. Agnes is survived by her children, Yvonne ( Neil) McCaul of Lake Odessa, Kaye (Max) McLeod of North Carolina, Dennis Slowinski of Potterville, and Robert Slowinski of Lake Odessa; grandson, Iaian McLeod, brothers, Alvin (Shirley) Droste, Gilbert (Helen) Droste, and Charles (Doris) Droste; sister, Jane (Al) Lehman; sister-in-laws, Barbara Slowinski and Margaret Slowinski; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Visitation with the family will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at St. Edwards Church on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary prayed at 6:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2007 at the St. Edwards Catholic Church in Lake Odessa with Father Thomas Hack as Celebrant. The Rite of Committal will be held at Lakeside Cemetery. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Edwards Church, or the Lakewood Community Ambulance.
