Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. Nov. 16, 1987

MUIR- Charles (Emery) Smalley, 85, of 6666 Kelsey Highway, Ionia, died Sunday 
morning at a Greenville Nursing Home.

He was born January 3, 1902 in Muir, the son of Charles and Lena Smalley. He 
attended rural schools and farmed for many years for Fred Brickley on Kelsey 
Highway. 

He is survived by one brother, Fred Smalley of Sunfield, and one sister, Daisy 
Cramer of Belding. 

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Hull Memorial Chapel of 
Muir the Rev. F. Michael Valentine of First Christian Church Ionia, 
officiating. 




Additional Comments:
Burial was in Balcom Cemetery.
