Robert A. Smart, Jr., age 34, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 27, 
2013.

Robert was born on July 18, 1979 in Grand Rapids, the son of Robert A. Smart 
(Ellen) of Lake Odessa and Diane Sydloski (Chris) of Grand Rapids.

He was a 1978 graduate of Lakewood High School. He spent three years in the 
military stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs. He was recently employed 
with the VA in Grand Rapids.

Robert is survived by his parents; sisters, Amber Brown (Joe), Robin Barnes 
(Matt), Angie Smart (Tim Eberly), Ranell Odegaard, Mearl Rairigh (Tracy 
Anderson) and Devin Rairigh (Danielle); grandmothers, Angeline Smart and 
Patricia Ball; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Robert will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Services were held August 31, 2013 at the Stegenga Funeral Home in Kentwood.
