Ionia Daily Sentinel, 22 Oct 1951

Clarence J. Smith, 50, of Kendallville, Ind., died Saturday, October 20.

Surviving are the wife, Audrey of Kendallville; his mother, Mrs. Kate Schmitt, 
of Ionia; and a sister, Mrs. Lucille Brockman, of Ionia.

He was born in Evanston, Ill, and as a young man lived in Ionia for about 15 
years, working at the Hayes.  He moved from here to Indiana in the middle 
twenties.

Mrs. Schmitt and Mrs. Brockman, and her husband, Vern, and family plan to leave 
early Wednesday morning for Kendallville where services will be held at 2 p.m. 
at the Arthur J. Berhalter funeral home.  Interment will be at a Kendallville 
cemetery.  The Ionians Plan to return home that night.
