A Good Man Gone

Robert S. Smith died at his home in South Ionia, Monday afternoon, at the ripe 
age of 80 years.  The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30, at the 
home, and at 2:00 o’clock at the Baptist church, of which he has long been a 
deacon and conscientiously devout member till within the past few months.  Rev. 
Branch will officiate, and the interment will be in the Balcom cemetery.  He is 
survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dye, who has lived with him for a number of 
years, and Mrs. Frank Hutchins.  He leaves one son, Lee Smith, of South Ionia.  
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
