Ionia Sentinel, 19 Nov 1973

William P. Smith, 83, lifetime farmer of Pewamo area, died in Carson City 
hospital about 4 a.m. Saturday.

Born in Westphalia, he married the former Mary K. Schafer, June 13, 1916.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, Clarence and Leonard of Pewamo;  
Paul of Dale City, Fla.; five daughters, Mrs. Roman Hafner of Pewamo; Mrs. 
Richard Craft of New Haven, Ind., Mrs. Francis Otz of St. Johns; Alma Smith of 
Pewamo and Sister Hildegarde of Shaska, Minn.  Also surviving are 20 
grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services will be from St. Josephs church in Pewamo at 10 a.m. Tuesday according 
to members of the family.  Arrangements are being made by Goerge funeral chapel 
in Fowler.
