Portland Review – Tuesday, 12 November 1918
Enid, the five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Smith, died at Detroit 
a few days ago, of influenza.  Mr. Smith formerly lived in Danby and is a son 
of C. P. Smith, Mrs. Casper Schaefer, mother of Mrs. Smith, went to Detroit on 
receipt of the news of the death of her granddaughter and has helped to care 
for other members of the family, who were ill, but are now recovering.
