Lowell Ledger – Thursday, 27 July 1939

Emory Benson Smith passed away July 16, 1939 in Portland, Ore.  He was born 
October 8, 1869 at Saranac, Mich.  He leaves a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Shortt; a 
nephew, William A. Shortt, and two great nephews, all of the city of Portland, 
Ore.  Mr. Smith was the son of Barney A. and Ida E. Smith, also a grandson, of 
the late Wm. M. and Sarah J. Andrews of Lowell.
