Harmon Smith an old resident of Ionia county, died at his farm home in Orleans 
last Tuesday, Uncle “Harm” as he has been familiary known for many years has 
been gradually failing in health, for the past year and recently his ailment 
took a serious turn.  He was at one time prominent in Ionia politics and was 
always a staunch republican.  A few years ago he married Mrs. Fannie Van 
Loten, who survives him.
