Smith Had Lived In Vicinity Since Childhood Long-Time Member of Danby Grange Will Hold Funeral In Home Saturday With Burial In Danby Charles P. Smith, well-known Danby farmer, died at his home near the Centerline bridge about 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. He was 87 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the home with burial in Danby cemetery. Rev. John H. Stewart will conduct the services. Mr. Smith was born in New York state, coming to Michigan at an early age. As a young man he settled in Orange where he later married Miss Marietta Brickley. She died in 1923. The deceased had lived at his present home for about 38 years. He was a long- time member of the Danby Grange, and had once held membership in the Gleaners organization. Surviving Mr. Smith are one daughter, Mrs. Milo Smith of Danby; and three sons, Claud and Harry Smith of Lansing and Walter Smith at home. There are seven grandchildren.
