Ionia County News, 26 Dec 1935

Frank Smith, aged seventy years, who lived at 515 Crawford St., died very
unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, December 19, at about to o’clock.  Mr. Smith
had not been feeling well for several hours and lay down telling Mrs. Smith that
he thought he would rest for a little while.  A short time after she went to him
and discovered that he had passed away.  Mr. Smith was a native of Grattan
township,  In 1903 he was married to Miss Lily Birdzell, of Fremont.  Besides
his widow there is one daughters, Mrs. Ralph Mason, of Ionia, one son, Earle
Smith, of Belding, and two sisters, Mrs. Duran Johnson, of the Oakwood district,
and Mrs. Bert Nowlin, of Lake City.  Funeral services were conducted at the
Fales funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and burial in River Ridge cemetery.
