Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday July 10, 1940
Ten year old Teddy Smith, son of Mrs. Marie Stilwell of Chicago Ill and 
Clarence Smith of Ft. Wayne Ind. died Wednesday morning at 4 a.m. in Cork 
company hospital in Chicago.  He had been in ill health for about three years.

Born April 2 1930, in Ionia, he is survived by one sister Marilyn Stilwell, a 
step sister, Audrey Stilwell, a step borther, Darwin Stilwell and his parents.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed although it has been announced 
that services will be held from Myers funeral home.  The body arrived in Ionia 
Wedneday afternoon.

From Daily Sentinel Standard, Thursday, July 11, 1940:

Funeral services for ten-year-old Teddy Smith, who died Wednesday morning in 
Chicago will be held from the Myers funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 
o'clock.  Interment will be held at the Palo cemetery.  Rev. Paul L. Stewart 
will officiate.
