The Portland Observer, Thursday, September 30, 1937

Mrs. Amelia J. Smith, 72, who died here Sunday, September 26, at the home of 
her niece, Mrs. B. M. Neller, was buried at Mt. Hope cemetery in Lansing 
following services at the Fist M. E. church there Tuesday afternoon.  Rev. W. 
M. P. Jerrett officiated assisted by Rev. Warren E. Brown, of Portland.

Mrs. Smith is survived by Almond Dunham, of Vanderbilt, Michigan; Paul Dunham, 
Lansing, and William Dunham, Ionia, brothers of the deceased and one sister, 
Mrs. Margaret Walker of Lansing.  Friends from here attending the funeral 
were: Mrs. James Plumb, Mrs. Pearl Sprague, Mrs. Earl Dake and Miss Lillian 
Bignell.
