Virgelene F. Smith, 69, of Hubbardston, died Monday at the Fulton Medical Care 
Facility.  She was born August 25, 1922, in Crystal Township, the daughter of 
James and Elizabeth Sutton.  She was a former employee at Lyons Trim.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ellis Griswald in 1975 and Robert 
Smith in 1983.

She is survived by her daughter Marilyn Argersinger of Carson City; her son 
Gary Griswald of Hubbardston; her sister Inez Wright of Ionia; her brother 
Thomas of Remus; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Schnepp Funeral Home of 
Carson City, with the Rev. Ken Harger officiating.  Burial will be in the Palo 
Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. 
and 7 to 9 p.m.  A memorial has been established for the Carson City Hospital, 
in care of the funeral home.
