Smith occurred at his home in Chadwick last Thursday, following a slight stroke of paralysis. The deceased was eight-two years old and was a former resident of this city. He was active and engaged in working about his place until a few days before his death. Beside his wife he leaves three sons and two daughters. His son, Melvin Smith, living on the Hal Smith farm, was called home from Detroit, where he had gone on a business trip, when his father was stricken. His remains were taken to Carson City for burial. A son, Henry, and a daughter, Mrs. Loomis reside there.
