Edwin White, pastor of St. John’s Episcopal church, officiating. Mrs. Smith died Sunday at her home at 472 State street, just four weeks after the death of her husband. Mrs. Smith’s death came at the age of 79, the result of paralysis. She was born in England where she lived until a quarter-century ago when she came to this county with her husband. Their children had preceded them to the United States. Those surviving Mrs. Smith include the following five daughters: Mrs. Jennie Scott, Ionia; Mrs. Florence Heard, South Manchester, Conn.,; Mrs. Agnes Sumner, Ionia; Mrs. Alice McKenzie, Toronto and Mrs. Ethel Mallaby, British Columbia. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery, the services at the cemetery including interment of the body of Mr. Smith after removal from the Mausoleum, where the casket had been since his death.
