The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, December 13, 1961
Mrs. Mary Smith, 65, of Belding died Tuesday at Sheridan Community hospital.  
She had been a resident of Belding since 1955 and had previously lived in the 
Fenwick area 15 years.  In 1917 she was married to William Allen who died in 
1943, and was later married to John Smith.  He died in 1956.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Bannen of Coral, and Mrs. 
Ray Holford of Belding; three sons, Donald Allen of Fenwick, Floyd Allen of 
Lakeview, and Carl Allen of Stanton; 18 grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; a brother, Leon Wood of Stanwood, and fivee stepchildren, 
Francis Smith of Lakeview, Edward Smith of Sand Lake, Ray Smith and Mrs. John 
Rogoleski of Cedar Springs, and Mrs. Barney Briggs of Muskegon.  

Funeral service will be at Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan Friday at 1:30 
p.m., with burial at Cato cemetery near Lakeview.  The Rev. George Frank will 
officiate.
