The Ionia Sentinel, Thursday, February 15, 1900

The wife of Robert Smith, South Ionia, died Thursday at the age of 67 years.  
Besides the husband she leaves five of a family of six children.  The funeral 
was held from the residence at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon, interment in 
Balcom cemetery.

An evidence of the high esteem in which Mrs. Robert Smith was held, was 
manifest by the large attendance at the funeral Sunday afternoon, conducted by 
Rev. W. H. B. Urch from the residence, South Ionia.  He spoke of her as a good 
christian wife and mother.  Interment in Balcom cemetery.
