The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, March 17, 1965

Mrs. Lillian M. Smith, 75, of 1279 Yeomans street died suddenly Tuesday 
evening at Belding Community hospital.  She was born March 31, 1889 in 
Sylvester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Zimmerman, and had spent all her 
life in Ionia.  In 1908 she was married to Vernie Smith who died in 1946.

Survivors include four sons, Alden Smith of Muskegon, Gerald of Plymouth, 
N.H., Asaph of Tennessee and Wayne of Ionia; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Lake of 
Lyons; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl 
Zimmerman of Hubbardston and Howard of Albuquerque, N.M.; and two sisters, 
Mrs. Lawrence Witzel of Ionia and Mrs. Mary Hale of Detroit.

Funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Boynton funeral home and Rev. 
Donald Price of Battle Creek will officiate.  Burial will be at Easton 
cemetery.
