Lucille F. Smith, 74, of Six Lakes, formerly of Portland, died Feb. 5, 1996.  
Mrs. Smith was born in Clyde Township March 14, 1921, the daughter of Edward 
and Nancy (Lauder) Rumsey. 

Survivors include four daughters, Karen (Alvin) Smith of Westphalia, Frances 
(Lee) McDiarmid of Lake Odessa, Marsha (John) Boerger of Farmington Hills, and 
Janice Smith of Carson City; four sons, Richard (Joan) Hurlbut of Sunfield, 
Anthony smith, Daniel (Deborah) Smith of Lansing, and Kenneth (Brenda) Smith 
of Dundee; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in 
death by her husband, Anthony, and daughter Sheila.

The Rosary was recited Feb. 7.  Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated 
Feb. 8 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Julian Reginato 
officiating.  Arrangements were handled by the Gorsline-Runciman Neller Chapel 
in Portland.
