The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, October 2, 1989

Margaret C. Smith, 90, of 876 Kent St., Portland, died Oct. 1 at a St. Johns 
nursing home.  Born July 23, 1899 in Eaton County, she was the daughter of 
Leon and Fannie (Snyder) Moyer.

She was a member of Portland Untied Methodist Church, the North Eagle Cemetery 
Society and was a past patron of the Portland OES #258.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Smith of Falls City, Ore., and Allen Smith 
of Portland; four daughters, Geraldine Hatch of Hemet, Calif., Harriet Patrick 
of Eagle, Mary Alice Lawless and Marcia Ackerson, both of Portland; 28 
grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Moyer of Portland; and 
a sister, Myrtle Wilcox of Portland.  She was preceded in death by her husband 
Harry and two sons, Douglas and Richard.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Neller Funeral Home in 
Portland, with the Rev. Stanley Finkbeiner officiating.  Burial will be in 
North Eagle Cemetery.
