Emanuel E. Smith, 53, building contractor of Lake Odessa died suddenly Sunday 
evening at his home.   He had lived in Lake Odessa for about three years, 
moving there form Lansing.  He was a member of the Walter French Masonic lodge 
in Lansing, and a member of the Lansing Eagle lodge No. 1039.  His wife is the 
former Beatrice Becker.

He leaves besides the wife, two daughters, Marie of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Margen 
of Grand Rapids; two sons, Jack, serving with the Army, and Richard of Lake 
Odessa; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Baker of Stanton and Mrs. Vera White of Lansing. 

Services will be held at the Pickens funeral chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m.  
Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
