This is the news in a dispatch to Frank Ammon, received Saturday evening, which also says that C.E. Wolcott will leave there with remains for Ionia, probably Monday. Frank Smith was a barber, formerly of firm of Smith & Kepner. He went to California about five years ago, and moved his family there the next year. He was in Ionia three or four months last summer, and immediately after his return to California moved from Bakersfield to San Luis Obispo, where he had a shop and was doing a flourishing business. His father, Fred Smith, and his sister, Mrs. Blackmore, are also living in same town. He leaves a wife, daughter of L. Tanner, and a daughter Pearl, about 12 years old. The friends knew that he had been having the grip, but were unaware that his condition was in any way critical. He was a brother of Mrs. Frank Ammon.
