Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. Dec. 1, 1980

MARNE, Mich.- Florence E. Smith, 80, of 537 W. Riverside Dr. Ionia, died Friday 
evening at the Beacon Light Christian Nursing Home in Marne, Mich.

She was born in Norwich, England Jan. 28, 1900 the daughter of Charles Emma 
Read Boughey. She moved to the United States in 1905 where she located in 
Lowell, and later moved to Ionia.

She was married to Gerald B. Smith in Detroit on July 7, 1919. They lived in 
Grand Rapi8ds for 17 years and then moved to Ionia and have resided here since 
that time.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald of Ionia; two daughters, Mrs. Harold 
(Marjorie) Rinks of Jenison, and Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Kimble of Madison 
Heights. Mich.; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home 
with the Rev. Ralph Barton of the Temple Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Muir Cemetery.
