Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. Dec. 30, 1968

Ray J. Smith, 69, of 1731 Donora, Lansing, died Monday at Sparrow hospital, 
Lansing after being hospitalized for a week.

He was born August 21, 1897 in Sandusky, Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William 
Smith. He is a retired employee of Oldsmobile in Lansing and a member of its 
quarter century club. 

He was married to Beulah Ogden, June 5, 1965, who survives. Also surviving are 
a son, James of Lansing and three grandchildren: one sister of Lindsey, Ohio; 
three stepsons, Tyrone and Terry Ogden of Ionia and Teddy Ogden of Pontiac; 
three stepdaughters, Mrs. Joyce Noggle of Walled Lake, Mrs. Janet LaPointe of 
Clarkston and Mrs. Judy Nelson of Ionia; 15 step grandchildren and one step 
great grandchild.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 pm at Myers funeral home. Rev. Lester 
Bailey will officiate and burial will be at Easton cemetery.
