Irma K. Smith, 73, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 1, 2009 at 
her home.

The daughter of Wheeler & Mary Althea (Terrell) Scheiren, she was born on Nov. 
1, 1936 in Saranac. Irma was a retiree of the former Gibson Refrigerator 
Company and enjoyed playing Scrabble.

Surviving are her three children, Laura Cole of Ionia, Michael Smith of 
Greenville and Julia Hayden of Lowell; two sisters, Ruth Ingraham of Portland 
and Elsie Voorheis of Florida; a sister-in-law, Elaine Smith of Ionia; 11 
grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis “Smitty” Smith 
in 1968 and five sisters and brothers, Mary Klahn, Harold Scheiern, Joseph 
Scheiern, Janet Lower and Eunice Ritz.

Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place and services will be private.
