Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Mon. May 3, 1976

STANTON- Milton D. Smith, 79, died unexpectedly early Monday at his home at 291 
West Thompson drive, Stanton. He was born October 7, 1896 in Ronald township, 
Ionia county, and was a retired farmer who lived most of his life in the 
Fenwick area.

He married Gwendolyn Catt in 1921. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Milton, Jr. of Orleans; one daughter, Mrs. Robert 
Hallett of Yuma, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Vannie Brown of Ionia; two 
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1 pm at the Stebbins-Simpson funeral home in 
Sheridan. Burial will be at the Woodard Lake cemetery. Rev. Joseph Nelson is 
officiating.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Tuesday and 
Wednesday from 7-8:30 pm.
