Portland Review & Observer - Mon. July 29, 1985

Richard C. Smith, 56, of 842 Kent St., Portland, died July 21 in Hart. He was 
born Feb. 19, 1929 in Lansing, the son of Harry and Margaret (Moyer) Smith.

Mr. Smith was a self-employed barber in Portland and was a member and past 
master of the Portland Masonic Lodge No. 31.

Survivors include; his wife, Carolyn; one son, Michael of Grand Rapids; two 
daughters, Sandra K. Davids of Traverse City and Brenda Behnke of Portland; 
eight grandchildren; his mother, Margaret; three brothers, Douglas and Allen, 
both of Portland, and Roger of Oregon; and four sisters, Geraldine Lakin of 
California, Harriet Patrick of Eagle, Mary Alice Lawless and Marcia Ackerson, 
both of Portland. 

Masonic services were held July 23 at Neller Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral 
services were held July 24 at the Portland United Methodist Church. Interment 
was made at Portland Cemetery.
