Richard F. Smith, 59, of Portland, died Feb. 4, 1991.

He was born in Portland on July 21, 1931, the son of Michael and Anna Smith.

He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Portland and a veteran 
of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; two sons, Timothy Smith of Norfolk, Va., 
and Bruce Smith at home; his daughter, Betsy Pohl of Portland; his brother, 
Elgin Smith of Portland ; two sisters, Dorothy Goodman and Mary Ann Simon, both 
of Portland; and three grandchildren.

The rosary was recited at the Neller Funeral Home. Services were held at St. 
Patrick’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Julian Reginato officiating.

Burial was in the Portland Cemetery.
