Leaves a Son and Daughter Mrs. “Rilla” Smith as she was familiarly called passed away quietly early Sunday morning as her daughter Mrs. Frank Roberts was preparing her breakfast. She has always been a most cheerful disposition, making many friends wherever she was. She was married twice, her husbands being brothers. She was also a member of the Congregational church and a fine, loving mother, always looking on the bright side of life and bringing cheer to those around her. They came to Lake Odessa when the village was new and she has made her home here most of the time since. To this union were born two children, a son Homer and a daughter Hazel. The husband and father died about 30 years ago. Many years later she married his brother Jonathan Smith and lived in Woodland township until his death several years ago. She then returned to her home in Lake Odessa where she died Sunday, August 7, at the age of 69 years eight months and 12 days.
