Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Feb. 1997

IONIA- Thelma Belva Smith, 90, of Ionia died Feb. 21, 1997.

She was born May 7, 1906 in Ionia, the daughter of Cyrene and Bertha (Lockwood) 
Robertson. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, member of the Wesleyen 
Guild and a member of the First United Methodist church of Ionia.

She is survived by one son, David D. and Barbara Smith of Lake Odessa; one 
sister, Janet Jennings of Ionia; one granddaughter, Susan and Thomas Gould of 
New Hampshire; two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son, Leonard, in 1969 and her brother, David 
Lockwood in 1977.

Cremation has taken place upon her request and memorial services will be held 
Friday, March 21, 1997 at the First United Methodist Church in Ionia with Rev. 
Lawrence Hodge officiating. There will be a family gathering at the Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 
p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hall-Fowler Memorial Library.
