The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Saturday, February 26, 1910


Death claimed another Ionian today, Emmons Smith being stricken at 1:30 this 
morning with heart failure, and died in a short time.  He went to bed Friday 
night in usual good health.  At the above hour Mrs. Smith was awakened and 
before help could be summoned he passed away.

Mr. smith was a son of the late N. E. Smith, and lived with his wife at the old 
house on the State road, north of the city.  He was 55 years of age, a quiet, 
industrious, honest man whose death will be regretted by many friends.

Funeral probably Tuesday, interment in Oak Hill.  Mrs. Smith expects her son 
from New York and daughter from Chicago tonight.
