Mrs. H. I. Smith Succumbs Tuesday

Mrs. Nellie A. Smith, 60 years of age, was found dead at her home at Cooks
Corners Tuesday morning, May 8th.  The deceased was born October 2, 1895 in
Buechel, Kentucky to George and Bennie Carrithers.  She was married June 16,
1913 to H. I. Smith in Jeffersonville, Indiana.  They came to Detroit in 1916
where they remained until 1943.  At that time they moved to this community.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Doric Chapter No. 75, Order of the Eastern Star, the
Otisco Home Makers’ Club and the Church of Christ in Buechel.

Survivors besides her husband include one sister, Mrs. Warren (Julia) Stout in
Ferncreek, Kentucky; two brothers, George Carrithers of Ferncreek and Frank
Carrithers of Detroit.
