Carson City Gazette, 23 Feb 1923

Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, aged 71, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George
McKenna, Tuesday.  For over thirty years she has resided in Hubbardston.  Her
death marks the passing of another respected old pioneer.  She leaves an adopted
daughter, also.  Miss Nellie Smith was not able to attend the funeral as she was
in Florida.  Funeral services were held from St. John chapel Friday morning. 
Out of town people here to attend the funeral were:  Miss Louise, Kermit and
Paul Walker of Detroit; John Souder of Bath; George Souders of St. Johns and
Mrs. Bowers of Kalamazoo.
