The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, February 6, 1956


George E. Smith, 78, died Saturday evening at his home in Evergreen township 
near Sheridan.  He was born October 29, 1877 near Saranac and was a resident of 
Evergreen township for fifty years where he was an electrician and fruit 
grower.  He was affiliated with the Mud Lake Community church.

He was married to Ola Bartlett in 1900 who survives him.  Also surviving are 
several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Stebbins 
funeral home in Sheridan with the Rev. Carl Flo officiating.  Burial will be  
at Evergreen cemetery.
