Stanley Smith, 74, of 123 East Washington street, Belding died suddenly early 
Sunday morning.  According to Coroner Dale Kauffman, death was due to a heart 
attack.  Mr. Smith was born July 17, 1881 in Grand Rapids and came to Belding 
as an engineer for Murry Body Corporation in 1939.  Previous to that he had 
made his home in Detroit.

He was a member of the Belding Congregational church, Belding Masonic Lodge 355 
F. and A.M., the Belding Sportsman club and the East Otisco Farmers club and a 
charter member of the Michigan Mineralogical society.

Surviving are his wife, Nellie, two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Doench and Mrs. 
George Cobb both of Detroit and one sister, Mrs. Archie Gibson of Lamont.

The body is at the Huffman funeral home where services will be held Wednesday 
morning at 10 o’clock with the Rev. H. B. Johnson of the Belding Congregational 
church officiating.  Interment will be at Acacia Masonic cemetery in Birmingham.
