Alfretta Smith, 70, died Monday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  Mrs. Smith 
was born December 25, 1913 at Princeton, Missouri.  She was a homemaker and a 
member of United Pentecostal Church, Grand Ledge.  
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Robert (June) Stewart, Texas, Faymie Smith, 
Highland, Texas, Mrs. Robert (Loma) Stephens, Ionia, Mrs. Gerald (Delores) 
Wolthuis, Clarksville, Mrs. Thomas (Lila) Roberts, Highland, Texas; two sons, 
Clifford Smith, Harry Smith, both of Texas; a brother, Harry Swartz, Austin, 
Texas; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-
grandchild.  Her husband, Ollie, died in 1977.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Huffman Funeral Home, Belding, the 
Rev. Douglas R. Stephens officiating.  Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory 
Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday and 
Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
