Smith, 84, of Belding, formerly of Muskegon, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Feb. 4, 2005. She was born to Earl and Elsie Finn Marshall on Dec. 2, 1920. Mabel is survived by her children, Rebecca and Robert Clark of Belding, Lawrence and Debi Renfroe of Grand Rapids, Judith Schuler of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel Benton of St. James, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Mabel will be sadly missed by lovingly remembered for her faith, her talents as a pianist and other musical instruments and her awesome sense of humor and wisdom. At her request, cremation has taken place. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Northside Bible Church, 1937 Whitehall Road, North Muskegon, with the Rev. Lowell Wood officiating. Inurnment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of one’s choice.
