Cyrus LeRoy (Roy) Smith, 91, of Ionia died June 7 at his residence.  Born June
29, 1899, in Chicago, he was the son of Loren and Myrtle Brown Smith.  He was a
lifelong resident of Ionia and formerly was employed at Ranney’s in Greenville
and REO in Lansing.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Ruth Smith of Grand Ledge, two granddaughters,
Sally Smith of Los Angeles and Susan Putman of Gaylord, and one great
granddaughter, Abby Putman.  He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel, and
February 1989; by his son, Loren, in 1976; and by a sister, Golda Bennett.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. from Stebbins and Simpson Funeral
Home, Sheridan, with the Rev. Tom Dudenhofer officiating.  Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
