Leona G. Smith, 88, of rural Greenville, died Sunday evening, Oct. 5, 2008, at
Metron of Cedar Springs.  Leona was born March 29, 1920, in Clinton County, the
daughter of Albert and Mary Miller Esch.  Leona was a member of St. Joseph
Catholic Church in Belding and enjoyed reading, sewing and crocheting.

Leona was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford Robinson, in 1966;
her second husband, Wilbur Smith, in 1990; her parents and brothers, Louie Esch
and Edward Esch.  Leona is survived by her daughter, Sue Robinson of Greenville;
brothers and sisters, Michael Esch, Alice Esch, Agnes Esch, Arnold and Annabelle
Esch, all of Eagle, Regina and Robert McWilliams of Elk Rapids, Harold and
Loretta Esch of Wacousta; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Belding, with Father Fred Brucker presiding.  Burial will follow in
Otisco Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at
Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with a rosary at 4 p.m.  Memorial
contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
