Carson City Gazette, Apr 1987

Marjorie Orrilla Smith died April 21, 1987 at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids
following a stroke.  She had lived at Clark Memorial Home for several years
before her final illness which was of short duration.  Miss Smith was born near
Hubbardston, Michigan, on November 26, 1904 at the home farm of her parents,
William Welles and Eva Kiefer Smith.  She was the youngest of four children. 
Her three siblings, Helen, Harold and Maurice, preceded her in death.

She graduated from Hubbardston High School and Western State Normal School in
Kalamazoo.  After several years as a high school mathematics teacher, she turned
to the field of Insurance where she was employed in Lansing until her
retirement.  She and her sister Helen lived in Lansing, Michigan for many years.
