The death of Mrs. Ona E. Smith took place at her home in Cooks Corners on
Sunday.  Mrs. Smith was 62 years of age at the time of her death and had been
ill for a long time.  Death was caused by cancer.

Mrs. Smith was the last member of a once prominent family in this community. 
She was one of the daughters of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis B. Stone, who
resided on the farm in the east part of the city, now occupied by the Ivan
Hebert family.  Mr. Stone for many years represented the third Ward of this city
on the county board of supervisors.

She was married to Warren Smith and for a number of years they resided at
Detroit, but some years ago came back to this section and took up their
residence at Cooks Corners.  Mr. Smith passed away about three years ago.  A
nephew, Harry DeLine, had made his home with Mrs. Smith for some time.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at Fales funeral home
with Rev. H.S. Ellis officiating and burial was in Otisco cemetery.
