Ionia – Michelle L. Smith, 27, of Ionia died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998 at Blodgett
Medical Center in Grand Rapids.  She was born March 13, 1970 in Ionia, the
daughter of Danny and Billie (Miller) Smith and attended Ionia Area Schools. 
She had worked at Renucci’s and Fairchild’s Crystal Flash until her illness
prevented working.

She is survived by her son, Danny M. Smith of Ionia; her parents, Danny and
Billie Smith of Ionia; three sisters, Bobbie (Joe) Ogden, Kathy Smith and Corie
Smith, all of Ionia; one brother, Dennis (Lisa) Smith of Ionia; grandfather,
Larry Northrup of Ionia; four nieces; one nephew; and several aunts, uncles and
cousins.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Danny V. Smith II; two
grandmothers, Ilene (Smith) Northrup and Jeanne Miller; and her grandfather, Ted
Miller.

Funeral services and committal will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Church
of the Nazarene in Ionia.  Pastor Kirk Starkweather will be officiating. 
Interment will be in Balcom Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:30
p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Myers Memorial Chapel in Ionia.  Memorial contributions may
be made to her son’s education, with envelopes available at the Myers Main St.
Chapel.
