Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 31 Mar 1947

Mrs. Frieda Smith, 78, of Muir, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, March 30, at the Ionia
County Memorial hospital following a lengthy illness.  Born in Rochester, N.Y.,
October 5, 1868, she married William S. Smith in 1890 in Rochester.  They moved
to Muir 52 years ago where Mr. Smith set up an evaporator for fruits.  He died
15 years ago.  Mrs. Smith was a member of the Christian Science Society in Ionia.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alexander Mutch of Muir and Mrs.
Florence Lawson of Ionia; two sons, Owen W. Smith of Lyons and Gilbert K. Smith
of Muir; two sisters Mrs. Fred Barber and Mrs. Charles Ford, Sr., both of
Rochester; four brothers, William Fuerness of Webster, N.Y., Theodore Fuerness
and Leo Fuerness of Rochester and John Fuerness of Newark , N.J.; three
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held from the Shaw-Rivett funeral home in Muir
Wednesday, April 2, at 2:30 p.m.  Interment will be in Muir cemetery.  Mrs.
Suzanne White will have charge of the music and the pallbearers will be Harry
Struble, Bradley Dinehart, Ralph Kimble, Ray Woodmansee, Alfred Peterson and
William Crandell.
