Ionia Sentinel Standard, 6 Aug 1940

Henry E. Smith, 63, died Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock at his home in Kalamazoo
where he lived alone.  He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. M. Mead of Grand
Rapids and Mrs. Fred Piper of Ionia.  He was born in Ionia, December 16, 1874. 
He moved to Grand Rapids and from there to Kalamazoo after living for many years
in Ionia.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon from Myers funeral home at 3
o’clock.  Rev. Paul L. Stewart will officiate and interment will be held at
Highland Park cemetery.
