Sentinel-Standard - Thursday, Nov. 11, 1976

SARANAC- Racie M. Smith, 87, of Algoma avenue, Rockford, died Wednesday evening 
at Belding Community hospital.

He was born in Ionia June 20, 1889 the son of Archie and Agnes Smith.

He was a life-long area farmer and a past member of the South Boston grange. He 
married Mabel Nelson in 1911. She preceded him in death.

Survivors included one son, Nelson of Saranac; two brothers, Stanley and Roy of 
California, seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Services are Saturday at 1:30 pm at the Roetman funeral home in Saranac with 
Rev. Earl Cross offiating.

Burial is in Lakeview cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Thursday and Friday 7 to 9 pm.
