He was born in Ronald township nearly 35 years ago, and except for a brief period in Detroit and the time when he was a soldier in the World war, lived all his life in the vicinity of and in Palo. Besides his wife and little son, Lee, he parents, two sisters and a brother survive. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the M.E. church and the edifice could not hold the large number of relatives, neighbors and friends who attended. The Loyal Legion from Hubbardston attended in a body and escorted the remains t the last resting place in Palo cemetery. The floral tributes from friends were beautiful and very numerous. The many friends of Gorham Smith of Palo, were saddened to hear of his death. He lived most of his life east of Wood's Corners. His friendly personality made him hosts of friends.
