Mildred L. Smith, 76, of 1310 Kinwood, Belding, died Monday, Sept 4, at Belding
Christian Nursing Home.  She was born in Mendon on Sept. 27, 1912, the daughter
of Floyd and Margaret Sumner Mapes.  She was married May 12, 1929 in Belding to
Roy P. Smith.  He preceded her in death in 1970. 

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Myrtle Preston.  She is survived
by several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Raymond (Hannah) Lepein of Yale, Mi.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home with
the Rev. Ron Lanthrop of the Belding First Church of God officiating.  Burial
will be in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding,  Visitation is Wednesday from 7 to 9
p.m.  Memorials may be made to the Alvah N. Belding Library.
